Three out of four people suffer from the fear of public speaking.
But public speaking is becoming more common in the workplace, in college courses, at church and even for soccer moms!
Now Jill Ammon Vanderwood, the author of Shaking Behind the Microphone: Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking, will share the 10 point plan she uses herself to help make your public speaking experiences more manageable.
It wasn't until Jill Vanderwood became an author that she needed to overcome her fear of public speaking. She was asked to visit classrooms and give speeches to children, as well as teach workshops for other writers. She was terrified in front of audiences but told herself to never say "no" to a speech.
First she would accept the speaking assignment and then figure out how she was going to do it. This lead her to Toastmasters.
The final "leap" she made was to go skydiving. Now she tells herself, "I'm not afraid of these people. I went skydiving from 12,000 feet!"
Your listeners will learn ten points to make their public speaking experience more manageable, plus stories from others who were faced with the prospect of losing their jobs if they didn't learn to speak in public.
