We are looking for a Native American Storyteller for an upcoming show with a Native American theme.

Someone experienced with telling stories, or at least in public speaking. We are quite flexible with the story content. They can be traditional Indian tales, legends, or true stories. Just so the narratives are told in story form and under a Native American theme.

Show Name: *
So, What's Your Story?
Show Description: *

Our show is somewhat different than other radio talk shows because it is not strictly an interview program or discussion panel. Rather, it is a program that features stories told uninterrupted from our guests. There is of course always some intermittent discussion with the storytellers before and after their narratives, but the emphasis is on the stories themselves and the powerful messages they convey. The stories can be fiction or non-fiction and can be humorous or serious.

To make it more convenient for our guests, we could conduct the recordings through Zoom or other media conferencing at a time of their choosing. The entire recording shouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes.

On this particular November 12th program, we are looking for a total of three Native American storytellers, preferably from three separate cultures to provide added diversity. The entire talk show lasts an hour, so each guest would have his or her own segment which would last approximately fifteen minutes each. We prefer our storytellers to tell 2-3 short stories each, with each story lasting on average 4-6 minutes apiece (due to people’s short attention span these days). But if a story can hold interest, a single longer story occasionally can go over well. The remaining air time will be informal discussion with the guests. So it would basically be divided up in thirds in which each guest would be on a segment of about 15-20 minutes

We are a public radio station, and therefore usually don’t pay our guests, but we gladly promote any books, projects, websites, or worthy causes they might endorse.

. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this project.

Thank you so much for your time, and thank you for your service to your cause.
